My family and I are vacating a great penthouse apartment in Ashiya and it should be available from late July or August. It's about 160 sq. meters and has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths (one a stone bath with a large window looking out on a garden; the other has a jacuzzi), 2 toilets, a "system" kitchen, large genkan, etc. Five balconies with 2 roof-top gardens.
It was originally the building owner's apartment so it has nice appointments. Overlooks Ashiya river and is one minute from Hanshin station. Good bakery and a pharmacy on the 1st floor, super market across the street, perhaps the best cake shop in Kansai on the corner, 3 minutes to a combini and 100 yen shop, and it's about 4 minutes to the post office. Various restaurants nearby but no fast food. One block to city hall.
All in all, it's a great place to live. Don't know what the rent will be but we paid Y250,000/month. Parking avail next door.
